Adventures of Motherhood

I am a harried mother of three kids who move at light speed and a husband who lives in a world of words. If that isn't enough, I teach in an elementary school as I slowly watch my hair turn gray.

Green-legged man meet your twin, orange-legged man!

We were back at the hospital today. You know you've been there enough times when the volunteers start to remember you.

We did x-rays and one bone is healing beautifully, the other is coming along. We looked at the x-ray with a resident and a doctor's assistant. Zach's tibia isn't completely flush. They both seemed a little concerned but the specialist breezed in and was very pleased with the progress.

We then went to the cast room (oh, did mention that we waited 3 hours before we got to the cast room? Why do they bother to give us appointments?) and they took off the cast. He was in a lot of pain, he had black marks on his leg from where he was originally hurt and big black blisters.

All of the sudden I didn't feel very well. I asked Carmi to hold his hand and I went to sit down. The doctor was talking and then looked at me and said "You don't look very good, you're ashen." I told him that I didn't feel very well. I called Carmi and then everything went to black. Yes, my friends, I fainted!

I felt ridiculous! The nurse told me not to worry, that it happens all the time, although usually to the dads :-)

So that was the excitement for the day.

I started to write this on Monday...but as you can see this is the first chance I had to finish it.

Zach is in school and working hard at catching up. RIght now he is orange-legged man and is finding this new cast much lighter. Thank goodness!

This weekend should be a little less hectic....last weekend Dahlia had a sleepover (7 girls) in honour of her birthday. At 2 am there were 3 still awake!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and if you are from Canada, Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm glad things are healing okay...and your reaction is perfectly understandable...first off, you weren't prepared for the sight of his leg, and after waiting all that time, I'm sure it was all too much to bear.

Can't wait to see a picture of the orange-legged man!

You fainted in a good place! I fainted on top of the Empire State Bldg. years ago, and they wouldn't even give my husband a glass of water for me. Glad to know you recovered and that Zach's cast is lighter now.

Oh poor you! I sometimes think that these calamities are harder on the adults than they are on the kids themselves.

My father once fainted when my daughter hurt her foot on an escalator, the mall in which it happened called an ambulance and the paramedics ended up tending to my Dad as well as my daughter LOL!
