Adventures of Motherhood

I am a harried mother of three kids who move at light speed and a husband who lives in a world of words. If that isn't enough, I teach in an elementary school as I slowly watch my hair turn gray.

I've got mail!

I was so excited to find a post card in the mailbox from Mr. Noah. He's having a blast. He's in the same cabin as his best friend and is having so much fun.

Two weeks till we pick him up. I hope it goes quickly for us, but very slowly for him! I know he's going to want to go again next year!

I  started writing before he left for camp so that mail would be waiting for him. I've written more snail mail in the last two weeks than I probably have in the last ten years! It's kind of fun.

Have a happy Thursday!

A boy turns 12

Noah turned 12 today. This picture was taken yesterday when he was leaving for Camp Shalom. My baby is growing up. We spoke to him tonight and he gushed about how much fun he was having. It's hard to be separated from him but he's excitedly spreading his wings - as he should!

He is such a sweetheart! We had to drive him to Toronto to make his bus and he left the whole family (Frasier included) individual notes. Mine thanked me for signing him up for camp and to tell me that he loves me and will miss me a lot.

That's just Noah. He's this funny, sweet, smart, kind kid. He'll be the first to ask someone how they are feeling. He had his list of people he had to say goodbye to before leaving for camp and insisted on calling those who had not called him. He has a good heart, true neshama.

He's on this grand adventure and I can't wait to hear all about it.

Happy birthday Noah!

It's been a while...

It's been quite a while since my last post, but life seems to always get in the way. Summer vacation is in full swing and I'm still waiting for relaxation to kick in.

We were able to spend a few days in Montreal visiting our family. While we were there, Carmi and I celebrated our 20th anniversary. How time flies. 20 years later, a new province, 3 beautiful children, an amazing dog and many adventures along the way.

Here is a picture of us on our anniversary. We were able to get away for a few hours and walked around old Montreal. It was truly a wonderful day.

I hope you're enjoying the summer, spending it with people that you love and of course finding all sorts of ways of beating the heat.

I hope it won't be as long till the next post!

M17

There is a boy/man in the house who is thrilled to finally be 17 so he can buy his own xbox games without his mother with him.

My man-child turns 17 today. This man who towers over me, hardly resembles the little baby we brought home from the hospital. How he changed our lives. He turned us from a couple to a family and what an adventure we've been on.

He is so smart and funny. He remembers inane facts and can quote episodes from his favourite shows and is frighteningly like his father. They are so much alike and it amazes me when I see them acting so similarly.

Happy birthday, Sweet Zach! You make your mom and dad very proud!

A Beautiful girl turns 14!

My sweet, sweet daughter, Dahlia turned 14 today. She is my best friend (besides Carmi!)and as the only girls in the house, we always say we need to stick together. Here is a letter that we wrote to her for her Grade Eight graduation yearbook.

"Being your parents is truly our blessing. We’ve watched you mature into a beautiful, caring young woman. We marvel at the confidence that you exude. You always think of others and try to live your life as a mensch. We see it every day in your interaction with your brothers, the rest of our family, friends and even animals.

You always put thought and effort in all that you do. We couldn’t be more prouder of all that you’ve accomplished and achieved at LCHDS. We love to see your pride in being Jewish and your joy in following the traditions of those before you. We look forward to sharing your next adventure with you.

We love you,

Mommy and Daddy"

This pretty much says it all. Happy birthday my sweet Monkey-girl. I look forward to seeing all that you accomplish!

Birthday Wishes!

Hi can hardly believe it. I know I say this every year, but I can hardly believe that my baby, my lovebug is turning another year older. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing our little baby home. But alas, 11 years has passed.

Noah is special. He is a sweet, caring, loving, smart, funny, and athletic boy. He always shows his concern for others. Oye this mother is kvelling! I don't think Noah every walked. He's always on the move, even when he sleeps. I love spending time with my sweet boy.

On this special day, I wish him only good health, happiness and all of his life's desires.

Happy birthday sweet Noah. Your mommy loves you!

19 Years and counting ...

Carmi and I are celebrating our 19th anniversary today. We have been together for 27 years!! I can hardly believe that 19 years have passed. Where has all the time gone? Three moves, a new province, three beautiful children, a cat , a dog, career changes.... wow look at all we have accomplished!

Carmi is on his way to NJ as we speak... had some business meetings that he couldn't get out of. So tonight I will take the injured Dahlia (a soccer story for another time) to soccer practice and then take the kids out for ice cream. Safe travels Carmi and we'll celebrate when you get home!
